The No Academy is a laboratory for social design, where starting artists and designers are working on a practical job for nine months, involving social, urban issues. They will do this under the supervision of an expert. The results are kept up to date and circulated through the No Academy website, which functions as the key figure of the laboratory.

The No Academy is, as the title suggests, not a building or institute, but a network that coordinates the contacts between candidates, supervisors and commissioners. And publishes. The No Academy sees to bringing up, research and solving of specified, complex social problems through social design.

Together with Elia (European League of Institutes of the Arts) and representatives from European partner institutes the No Academy will focus on circulating the basic ideas of the laboratory and the project results through meetings, here and abroad. The No Academy partners will evaluate the results of this pilot project and may adopt them afterwards.
